The Brussels Griffon

The Brussels Griffon or Belgian Griffon is an alert and lively dog, a good companion with a face that has almost human like expressions.

Description
This sturdy dog has wiry hair and a large head with a bushy beard.

Size
The Brussels Griffon stands 7 to 8" tall and weights 6 to 12 pounds.

Color
Colors include red, reddish brown and black, black and tan and pure black.

Origin
This breed was first shown in 1880 at the Brussels Exhibition.

Temperament
Smart and cheerful, this is a dog with a lot of personality. It can be high strung and needs to be part of the family but will get along with other pets.

Training
May be difficult to housebreak but can be taught to do tricks.

Living Conditions
Are find without a yard, can make good apartment dogs.
