The Japanese Chin is a pleasant dog that loves to entertain and is devoted to his owner.

Description
This dainty little dog has a broad face and long feathered coat. He has a short snout and long forehead.

Size
The Japanese Chin weighs 4 - 15pounds and is 7 - 11 inches tall

Color
White coat with colored patches of black, red, orange, sable, bridle or lemon.

Origin
This breed, also called the Japanese Spaniel is native to Korea and was introduced to Europe by the Japanese in 1700.

Temperament
Charming, lively, gentle and affectionate. This happy dog loves to be the center of attention, but be careful as he can have a mind of his own.

Training
Can be trained to learn tricks easily and also make good watch dogs although they are not big barkers.

Living Conditions
Moderately active inside - don't need a yard so good for apartment life. Can be sensitive to temperature extremes.
