The Yorkshire Terrier
They Yorkshire Terrier is a very popular breed and makes a great companion. This dog is lively and fun, loyal to his owner.
This breed has long silky fur with a flat head and medium muzzle. Tail is usually docked. The Yorkie has a lot of hair on his head which is typically worn tied up in a barette.

TheYorkie is about 7 pounds and stand between 6 and 7 inches.

Origin
Only about 100 years old, there is some discrepancy as to where this breed hails from - Scotland or Englandi
Temperament
Full of energy and adventure, this breed is brave and loyal. The Yorkie seems to think it is a much larger dog and acts as such. Affectionate to his master but can be suspicous of strangers. Needs a lot of attention.
Training
Easy to train but can be stubborn at times.
Living Conditions
Does well as an indoor dog, can be sensitive to the cold.
